(W.B. Costard is one of the most successful writers in the 1920s, but despite all his success and adoring fans, he hates people and feels he can do better with out them. He plans to have his next story take place in Kenya, and being the professional that he is, W.B. Costard pilots himself and all his belongings, to do research of the unknown land. Not knowing how to fly a plane, he crash-lands in the middle of nowhere, losing all his luggage and supplies. However, thinking he finally found some luck, one bag survives the crash, unfortunately it is just an old ironing board. Thinking he is the unluckiest man in the world, he tries to find his way. But when the ironing board save his life, he realized it is more then an old ironing board, but it is his friend, his only friend. One night he is careless and falls asleep under a dry tree. the tree catches fire and he runs for his life, not realizing he had left his precious ironing board behind. When he realizes what he has done, he runs back, but by then it is too late, and the board is nothing but ash. This is when he realizes how alone he really is, and it is not him against the world. When he is finally found by his fellow man, he is happy and welcomes them with open arms. In the end however, he does write his most successful book yet, How Survive with Nothing but an Ironing Board.)
